planning meals for diferent ages

When planning meals for children, infants, toddlers, young children ,it is important to determine if their meals meet the nutrional needs.

Infants under 12 months :Infants can either drink formula milk or breast milk as it contains the necessary nutrients for the infants.

Infants above 12 months:They can start chewing on semi-solid food which is either mashed, ground, grated ,blended, boiled or minced.

Young children : They must have enough carbonhydrates for their energy needs ,proteins to build their body ,and other necessary vitamins

Teenagers: Teenagers need to eat food that build strong bones, meet energy needs ,have a balanced diet, eat sufficient fruits and vegetables and consume enough proteins

Elderly: Elderly people tend to have slower body functions, lower needs and have a increased risk of diet-related diseases.Elderly should be given soft food as they have weak teeth.WE can keep serving sizes small.(we can use less salt, suger  and fats to reduce the chances of having a diet -related diseases)
